Chicago Med season 3 episode 11 spoilers: Meet Dr. Reese’s father

Chicago Med season 3 episode 11 is going to serve as another reminder of one simple thing: This is not an easy season for one Dr. Sarah Reese. We’ve already seen her conquer many of her worst fears; now, we are about to have a chance to see her estranged father enter the fray.

Michel Gill, best known for his work on House of Cards and Ray Donovan, is going to appear in an arc of episodes this season beginning with this March 6 installment. The Chicago Med season 3 episode 11 synopsis teases more of his role in the story coming up:

03/06/2018 (10:01PM – 11:00PM) (Tuesday) : DR. RHODES AND DR. BEKKER TRY TO SAVE A MISDIAGNOSED PATIENT WHILE DR. CHOI IS ON A MISSION TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAPPENED DURING A STABBING AT HIS APARTMENT COMPLEX – MICHEL GILL GUEST STARS – After a neighbor is stabbed, Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) enlists the help of April (Yaya DaCosta) to figure out who is the real cause of the incident. Dr. Bekker (Norma Kuhling) and Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) expertise is put to the test when Noah (guest star Roland Buck III) misdiagnoses a patient. Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) is put in an uncomfortable position when Dr. Reese’s (Rachel DiPillo) estranged father (guest star Michel Gill) comes to him as a patient without her knowledge. Meanwhile, Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) rushes to save a baby with whooping cough. S. Epatha Merkerson, Marlyne Barrett and Nick Gehlfuss also star. Jesse Lee Soffer, Ato Essandoh, Roland Buck III and Eddie Jemison guest star.

Obviously, Dr. Reese’s father arriving is going to make things hard on her, especially since it’s not altogether fair for her to have to treat a patient who has some sort of traumatic history with her.

Beyond just that, isn’t it nice to see Jesse Lee Soffer stopping by for some sort of Halstead family reunion? There’s no clear indication as to why he’s appearing and it may just be a brief cameo. Even if that is all it is, though, it’s absolutely better than not getting any Jay Halstead at all.
