Timeless season 2 episode 2 heading back to ‘The Darlington 500’

Timeless season 2 episode 2

Timeless season 2 episode 2 is going to be looking towards something that we always love about the series: Touching on forgotten eras of history and heroes that you may not have known about previously.

This episode is airing on Sunday, March 18, and the title for it (per SpoilerTV) is “The Darlington 500.” What this could be is a reference to one of the most iconic stock-car races of all time, one in the Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway that first started up back all the way in 1950. A lot has obviously changed since that time, including the name of the race itself; nonetheless, this race is one of the ones that really paved the way for what is commonly known as NASCAR today.

As for how much this episode is going to be about a specific race, that is not entirely clear; yet, the Time Team will spend time in the 1950’s during the episode and at one point, Rufus and Lucy are also going to meet Wendell Scott, a pioneer for diversity in sports. He was the first black NASCAR driver and in 1963, became the first black driver to win a NASCAR race. This is someone who some of our heroes could take some inspiration from, but beyond that he’s probably going to be useful to the overall mission in the episode. While Timeless is absolutely an inspirational show, it’s not just about being hit hard with moral messages. Many characters from history end up having a very important role to play within the overall story, as well.

Within these first two episodes of season 2, you are going to see Timeless very much at some of its time-traveling best. After all, the first episode of season 2 is going to take you back all the way to the days of World War I, where you will see the aftermath of everything that happened with Rittenhouse and Lucy’s mother in the season 1 finale. (Be sure to head over to the link here to read a little bit more on that subject.)
