Is there no NCIS season 15 – NCIS: New Orleans crossover?
At present, there has been zero talk about the two different worlds colliding for another episode for NCIS season 15 or NCIS: New Orleans season 4. That’s disappointing given that the two shows together have made some memorable episodes over the years. It’s possible that there could still be one, but if so everyone remains fairly hush-hush on the subject.
As for why there may not be this year, you really do have to look at the state of flux with the two shows as a possible reason. As discussed recently, Shalita Grant (who plays Percy) is leaving NCIS: New Orleans at the end of the season (you can check out CarterMatt’s thoughts on that in the video below). Meanwhile, Pauley Perrette is leaving NCIS at the end of season 15. The priority for now may be for these shows to properly handle some of these transitions. There may also be some work being put in on possible replacements. NCIS is already looking for ways to fill the Abby void, whereas over on NCIS: New Orleans it looks like they’ll be working to replace Percy almost completely on the fly. They’ve got the biggest challenge given that departures in the middle of a season are pretty abrupt.

We don’t exactly think that we’ve reached the end of the road when it comes to NCIS – NCIS: New Orleans crossovers. Unfortunately, it takes so much more than just writing a good episode for these crossovers to work. There are a number of different components at play here! For starters, you have to find the right story. Beyond that, the next order of business is working out the schedule. These are shows filming in different cities and with that, there are some significant scheduling crises that you can run into.
Beyond just this crossover, we’re of course going to continue pushing for a three-part NCIS crossover until the cows come home.
