Is Wynonna Earp season 3 doing Christmas episode?

Christmas episode

Is it Christmas in Purgatory? It’s certainly fun to think so, given the hints that are out there right now about a possible Wynonna Earp season 3 Christmas episode.

What are the hints? Take a look at just one hint via Twitter below — clearly, there’s either something Christmas-related going on or the parties involved in the show really want you to think that there is. CarterMatt would not be shocked to see the series go in this direction for a couple of different reasons.

1. The weather outside is still frightful – Given how cold it is in Calgary, it’s easy to replicate a Christmas sort of environment there. Why not stop fighting the snowy weather conditions and instead find a way to embrace them?

2. There’s really no better time to do one – This is not a series that airs at Christmastime, but that doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t try and capture the magic at some point.

We can already imagine some of the fun that we could get for Wynonna on Christmas, whether it be Doc hanging Christmas ornaments on his ‘stache (maybe not realistic, but still), Wynonna taking down some sort of evil demon wearing a Santa hat, or maybe seeing some really festive WayHaught moments along the way. This episode, if it is truly about Christmas (there are even more hints out there than the one image below), should be a lot of fun and an opportunity for the series to do something different. To be fair, though, almost every episode of Wynonna Earp represents the cast doing something different. They are always looking at new and exciting ways in which to push the envelope and try out something that they haven’t quite done before. It’s one of the many reasons why we love this show as much as we do.
