The Assassination of Gianni Versace episode 6 return date, details
While the FX limited series is airing up against the Olympics this week, all signs now see to indicate that we’re going to be seeing the show take a week off on February 21. The next batch of new episodes is going to be coming on Wednesday, February 28, and this is a pretty important one as we start to understand a little bit more in terms of what eventually led Andrew Cunanan to commit one of his most infamous acts. Take a look at the episode 6 synopsis below for a little bit more information:
Andrew Cunanan celebrates his birthday in San Diego as his life starts to fall apart. Written by Tom Rob Smith; Directed by Gwyneth Horder-Payton.
What’s with the ratings?
This season of American Crime Story isn’t getting anywhere near the attention of The People v. OJ Simpson, and it turns out that this is also being reflected in some of the ratings that are turning up for the show now. The Assassination of Gianni Versace has dropped more than half of its ratings since the premiere and, to go along with that, is down more than 50% in both live viewers and adults 18-49 demographic from the OJ Simpson two years ago.
To a certain extent, this was anticipated when you think about the subject matter here not being anywhere near as high-profile. Yet, you do also have to wonder if the buzz around the show just isn’t the same thanks to the non-linear structure. In part what aided The People v. OJ Simpson was that its approach was pretty easy to follow from start to finish and there was so much juicy courtroom drama to keep track of. It’s going to be hard for any other season of American Crime Story to be able to match this.
