This Is Us season 2: Three things that must be addressed before finale

This Is Us season 2 cast

Unfortunately, This Is Us is not coming on the air tonight — this probably isn’t a surprise to many potential viewers out there of the show, given that the Winter Olympics are on and there just isn’t a spot for the show on the NBC schedule. You’ll see the Pearson family again come February 27, and that’s important given that there are only three more episodes to go until a very long hiatus. Season 3 premieres at some point in the fall.

Since this CarterMatt article seems to be very much inspired by the number three, why not share just as many things that Dan Fogelman and the writing team need to address before the end of this season? There are clearly many more than three, but consider this a nice jumping-off point.

1. Jack’s brother Nicky – Recent posts have suggested that this will be a plot point, and that is very welcome given that it is one of the larger empty spaces within the character’s life. The only twist we know so far is that military Jack doesn’t have the mustache!) Seeing what happens to Nicky is very much important in understanding how much family means to Jack, and in turn why he was so protective of them prior to his death.

2. Kate’s wedding – Maybe she and Toby don’t walk down the aisle this season, but it feels like during all of the talk surrounding Jack’s death this got left on the back-burner a little bit unnecessarily. Why not bring it back to the forefront now?

3. Kevin’s recovery – While we’re not sure his career will or should be getting off the ground again soon, a nice endpoint for him by the end of the season would be him finding his way back home after spending some time living with his mother and rebuilding that relationship. Once he finds more stability within himself, he may be able to find more stability when it comes to his own future.
