Peggy Sulahian leaving Real Housewives of Orange County after one season
Peggy Sulahian is leaving The Real Housewives of Orange County, and with that the enormous exodus of known personalities from that particular Bravo series continues. We already reported weeks ago than Meghan King Edmonds was departing after three seasons, and following that Lydia McLaughlin decided to join them out the door.
In a new statement via Us Weekly, the reality start offered up some of the reasons why she has decided to depart this show and focus on some other things in the immediate future:
“What an exciting experience it was to be part of The Real Housewives of Orange County! It was an honor to be the 100th housewife and to be part of the Bravo family. I am extremely proud of being the first Armenian-American Housewife and sharing my culture with the world … While I faced and conquered many challenges, I’m grateful for the opportunity to share my story and spread awareness of breast cancer. Dealing with the disease and the passing of my father challenged me to reassess and reflect on my life, and I’ve realized what’s most important is leading a healthy and happy life, surrounded by people who care and love you. At this point, moving on seemed like the right thing to do. A few new ventures have availed themselves, and I look forward to sharing them with you soon!”
Basically, this is very similar to the reason why there are so many other people over the years who have walked away from this show: An opportunity to get away from the craziness and the drama to move on to other, more positive ventures. We don’t feel like Peggy is making the wrong decision here in any way, given that being a part of this show can be stressful and even toxic depending on how you can often handle dealing with some of the stress and the drama that goes along with being in this situation.
Bravo is going to have to go back to the drawing board for this upcoming season, but they really needed to do that anyway given that it’s been years since The Real Housewives of Orange Country did anything that we would qualify as super-buzzworthy TV. For us here at CarterMatt, we’ve long felt that this cast in particular has needed a large overhaul for a while now.
Are you shocked at all that Peggy has decided to call it quits being a part of the series? Be sure to share right now in the comments!
