The Fosters season 5 episode 16 return date for Maia Mitchell, cast
Whether it be to compensate for the Olympics or for some other reason, the show will be taking a brief break in the action to reset itself and will be returning to the air with new episodes on Tuesday, February 27 with “Giving Up the Ghost.” There are only three more episodes left this season, so it does make some sense that the series would not waste a whole lot of time in order to get to some of these. There are also many different storylines that do need to be addressed before The Fosters wraps up, including the relationship issues between Lena and Stef, the DACA ripped-from-the-headlines story, and of course some of the relationships between the teenagers.
For now, the Fosters season 5 episode 16 synopsis that Cartermatt has for you below offers up a little more information on what’s next:
Stef confronts her demons and finally comes clean to Lena about what’s been troubling her. Mariana and Emma find themselves going head to head, putting Poppy and Jesus in an awkward position.
We just hope more so than anything else that The Fosters does figure out a way in which to tie up most of what is out there — there may have been some time for the writers to adjust some things within the final episodes, which we think is pretty critical given that even with the spin-off in mind, we’re not sure that we will get a chance to see some of the characters beyond Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) and Callie (Maia Mitchell) on a regular basis. We also want to see the series close off with some element of hope — we’ve seen so much struggle on The Fosters, but we do still think it was crafted with optimism in mind. Maybe not every character is going to become the next President or a multi-millionaire, but we do think that everyone from Jude to Jesus is being set up on the road for them to be as successful as possible.
