Scorpion season 4 episode 17: The progress still to come

Is Scorpion season 4 episode 17 new tonight on CBS? Given that we’ve had a pretty solid run of episodes as of late, wouldn’t it be nice to keep that going?

Unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait for a little while. There is no new installment airing on the network for a little while. Why is that? Well, it has to do to the Olympics. CBS doesn’t want to run their shows up against one of the biggest sporting events of the year and for good reason: The Olympics are a ratings vacuum that nobody should want to be sucked into. CBS can air repeats for the next couple of weeks and come back to Scorpion come Monday, February 26 when the series officially returns with some more new episodes.

What’s coming up? We know that, for certain, the series is planning to continue the Florence – Sylvester subplot established on this past episode. Beyond that, it would be considered a shock if they did not pick back up on what is happening with Happy and Toby as the two slowly progress towards a future together.

So what about Walter and Paige? We’d love to think that they could be charting towards an engagement by the end of the season, but this isn’t necessarily something that we feel we need just yet. Provided that the series gets a season 5 it feels like there’s more time to explore all of this; plus, we shouldn’t necessarily feel the need to define every single one of the show’s relationships by major life milestones. There are plenty other dimensions and wrinkles that could be explored.

Remember in the end that Scorpion is meant to be fun. It’s a silly, lighthearted show and it’s probably not right to treat it as too much more than that. It’s not really a show that we like to apply pressure on in terms of what could be happening/not happening.
