Valentine’s Day ‘shipper showdown: The best overall TV romance
Over the past month, CarterMatt has hosted a number of ‘shipper showdowns between various shows and fandoms, largely for the purpose of seeing what ‘ship was the best of that particular group. Today, we’re expanding this a little bit outward! We’ve taken all of the winners from some of those various polls and today, are kicking off an enormous Valentine’s Day ‘Shipper Showdown. There are many different entries to choose from, and voting is going to be open for the next week. We’ll announce the results on Monday, February 19 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time (1:00 p.m. Pacific). Now that we’ve laid out the criteria here, let’s get to
Supercorp a.k.a. Kara and Lena, Supergirl – This was the first poll CarterMatt conducted last month, and the reigning ‘Ship of the Year winners took down Sara & Ava after a fairly impressive showing.
Dawsey a.k.a. Casey and Dawson, Chicago Fire – Really the OG One Chicago couple, two fantastic characters who both love and greatly support one another.
Densi a.k.a. Deeks and Kensi, NCIS: Los Angeles – What’s not like to love about these two? They kick butt, take names, and are hilarious just about every step of the way.
Japril a.k.a. Jackson and April, Grey’s Anatomy – They won their first poll in a landslide, so it’s certainly possible that they find a way to do so yet again here.
Malec a.k.a. Magnus and Alec, Shadowhunters – These two characters have been on an epic, incredible journey for some time — let’s hope that the two continue to take a great step forward in season 3.
Klaroline a.k.a. Klaus and Caroline, The Originals – Will these characters finally get together? It’s now or never given that we’re now in the final season.
Outlaw Queen a.k.a. Regina and Robin, Once Upon a Time – With this being the final season of Once Upon a Time, isn’t everyone starting to feel a little bit more nostalgic for the days in which these two characters were together?
Quintis a.k.a. Happy and Toby, Scorpion – The two are now married; is a Quintis baby coming soon? It would definitely be a nice gift by the end of the season?
Stef and Lena, The Fosters – With the series ending, what better way to send a farewell gift to the couple at the heart of the show?
Keen2 a.k.a. Liz and Tom, The Blacklist – In a pretty intense showdown fans of the late Tom Keen rallied to get he and Liz on this final list.
Barisi a.k.a. Barba and Carisi, Law & Order: SVU – Now that Barba is no longer on the show, this feels almost like a tribute to the character just as much as the ‘ship itself.
Bughead a.k.a. Betty and Jughead, Riverdale – The popularity of this ‘ship began almost immediately after the series premiered. It won its poll after a pretty close showdown.
FitzSimmons a.k.a. Fitz and Simmons, Agents of SHIELD – Who wants to see these two characters get married now after their recent engagement? That seemed to be a driving force on CarterMatt for votes.
Darvey a.k.a. Donna and Harvey, Suits – They had the biggest runaway victory out of any ‘ship poll conducted over the past month. It feels fair to say that there’s quite a desire to see the two characters together!
Romelza a.k.a. Ross and Demelza, Poldark – This was a runaway victory for the best Poldark ‘ship and we understand why — an idealistic yet relatable couple with plenty of struggles but also a lot of love.
