Does Gotham season 4 need to cast Talia al Ghul?
With that being said, we absolutely do think that coming up, the series could benefit greatly from an appearance from Talia al Ghul. First and foremost, there’s already a pretty substantial reason to bring her in, given the fact that Ra’s al Ghul has already made his presence felt on the show in a big way — also, given what happened to him there’s a plenty-good reason for the series to want to write her in. We’ve heard rumors out there in the past and also theories that we’ve actually met her already; yet, nothing has been confirmed.
What we like about Talia al Ghul is that she brings something that not many other characters have at this point: An air of mystery, and a background that is somewhat separate from Gotham. She has a way of doing things that is unique and specific from most other characters. Also, she definitely has an interesting history from the comics that could be explored. Why not complicate Bruce Wayne’s life a little bit more?

As for whether or not Talia al Ghul will actually happen this season, probably not. We like to imagine that if this was someone who was in producers’ plans, we probably would’ve seen her on the show in some capacity before now. Since that hasn’t happened, we have to assume instead that there are no immediate plans to throw her into the picture. We do already have Poison Ivy and Jerome to focus on in some of the episodes coming up, let alone Sofia Falcone, who’s been set up in some ways now as the Big Bad for the entire second half of the season.
Also, the reality here is just that Gotham in general has so many characters already that it may be heard to find a way to throw Talia in the fray. Whenever she does turn up, you do want to ensure you do the character justice.
