Shark Tank preview: Super Coffee, One Earth Designs, Avocaderia, Gunnar, Honeyfund
Before getting into the products, let’s start as we always do with the synopsis for the episode:
An entrepreneur from San Clemente, California, familiarizes the Sharks with his eyewear design engineered to eliminate digital eyestrain and block harmful rays; an entrepreneur from New York City introduces the world to the first avocado bar that serves healthy fast food; an entrepreneur from Burlingame, California, shows the sharks that they can cook anywhere under the sun with her portable solar invention; a trio of brothers from Arlington, Virginia, present their all-natural super beverage.
Now, let’s transition over into some of the products:
Avocaderia – This is a fast-casual concept based mostly on the idea of making a wide array of different, interesting, and hopefully tasty concepts using avocado as a central ingredient. One of their main emphasis is creating fancy variations of toast with toppings, something that has become over time a very popular food trend. Avocado, naturally, is a key component in just about everything that they do.
Super Coffee – The idea here is coming up with a bottled coffee beverage that tastes good, and then also one that you can feel good about after the fact. Super Coffee contains a ton of nutrients that help with giving you a sustained energy boost without the crash. There’s easily a market for healthier, better versions of other bottled coffee — though personally we like the feeling of brewing a cup.
One Earth Designs – Some of their signature products include basically solar-powered cookers that enable you to make some of your favorite food using only the power of the sun. There are limitations much in the way that there are many solar-powered innovations and it is expensive, but we do love the idea of having something that this that can be brought anywhere and doesn’t need gas or charcoal in order to do the job.
Gunnar – The idea here is simple: Eyewear designed to be worn while using technology to reduce harmful strain. Given how much time people spend in front of their devices at this point in time, it’s a smart idea. Price-wise, it’s also fairly comparable to most other eyewear that is out there.
