Celebrity Big Brother live feed spoilers: Metta World Peace threatens to leave (Day 11, morning)
Basically, Metta has been trying to leave this game before even the live feeds first came on after the premiere episode. He doesn’t have any real interest in being there away from his family, and it seems like to date, production has talked him down on a number of different occasions. We think that the producers have done just about everything that they can to safeguard the show from people quitting — they knew it would likely happen given the celebrity format. Contractually, we think that it’s going to be hard for some of these people to leave. CBS obviously knows that if they don’t have celebrities, they really don’t have much of a show.
This morning, Metta had his latest outburst on this subject, basically threatening to talk with producers and take off. The feeds cut, but when they came back he was still there.
Let’s be clear on one thing — Metta is on borrowed time. At some point this season he probably will find a way to quit, especially when it starts to become clear that some of the other contestants have no intention of sending him home right away. Why would they? He’s pretty useless insofar as the game goes and rather unintentionally-funny about how little he knows about it. They know he’s not a threat to win the money.
What’s mostly interesting is what happens if Omarosa doesn’t return to the game after being hospitalized and then what happens if Metta quits — all of a sudden we’re down to eight houseguests! We’re sure that production could make that work but it’s a pretty big reset as to whatever their plans are the rest of the season. If someone else quits, though, they could start to be in more of a pickle. (You can read more regarding what happened to Omarosa over at the link here.)
We’ll update this article if something more happens with Metta — at this point, though, it feels like this is going to become an evergreen topic throughout the remainder of this season.
