Timeless: what journey will Rufus face in Season 2?

While we still have a few weeks left until NBC’s Timeless returns, we want to take a minute and tell fans what we’d like to see in Season 2 for Rufus. Season 1 was a rollercoaster as the team followed Flynn through various time periods in order to find out who killed his family. In addition, Rufus, Lucy, and Wyatt discovered a secret organization whose sole mission to change certain points in history. Rufus is a programmer at Mason Industries, who designed the time machine. Rufus’s job is to pilot the time machine or “Lifeboat”. However, as the season went on Rufus proved to a much more valuable asset than just a pilot. He’s quick to think and despite being scared occasionally, he works well under pressure. So going into Season 2 here’s what we’d like to see.

Be the optimistic one – There were moments especially toward the end of Season 1 where Wyatt and Lucy gave up hope or felt as though they weren’t getting anywhere. However, when the team needed someone to lift them up, Rufus was there. What we love about this is that Rufus was only supposed to be the pilot. Lucy’s the historian and Wyatt was assigned to protect them, so the fact that the person who wasn’t there for anything else than to fly the time machine is the one who demands they never give up. That’s a great character! Every show needs a character like Rufus because sometimes they are the one who have the most to tell us.

Rufus’ history – So how did Rufus start working for Mason Industries? What made Rufus who is he when the show starts? These are just a few of the questions we’d like to see answered. Now we know if Rufus’s history pertains to the overall story we will get an answer. We know that Rufus was blackmailed in the beginning of the show by Connor Mason because Mason financed his education, but there can be more to it. Take, for example, the man from Rittenhouse who threatened Rufus in the episode “Party at Castle Varlar”. Where did this stranger go? It would be interesting to see him come back and continue to threaten Rufus. Could this man have a connection to his past?

Again there’s so much this show can do and we can’t wait to see what will occur this season. We love this show and believe that the overall direction of the series is great and clear. So far so good and we will continue to come back week after week.
