Riverdale season 2 episode 14 return date for Cole Sprouse, cast
After tonight’s new episode the series will be coming back for an episode called “The Hills Have Eyes” (creepy, no?) on Wednesday, February 28. Just like the majority of the other shows on The CW (other than Black Lightning and a few others), Riverdale is taking off for the Winter Olympics. It’s already clear that the network is invested in keeping the show around, so there is no point in hemorrhaging the show’s ratings.
As of right now, the series has firmly established itself as a consistent entry in the network lineup. While it didn’t maintain the monster rating that it posted in the premiere, Riverdale season 2 is posting on average a 0.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic. We imagine that this is going to be a number that will get the series a season 3 easily, and for much of the near future we don’t see the series being in any real danger at all. The ratings on the air are one thing, but the show’s performance on Netflix is such that its popularity is likely going to continue feeding into new episodes when they air on The CW.
(Sidebar: Given how much flack The CW is getting right now for their attempt at rebooting Charmed, how silly are they going to feel if and when that project flops and The Thrilling Adventures of Sabrina, which Netflix snatched away from them, turns out to be a hit?)
There are still at least nine more episodes to go in Riverdale season 2, which means mostly that there’s plenty of time for almost the entire story to flip on its head — and the same goes for relationships. We anticipate answers to some of the season’s biggest question marks, but knowing this show those answers will probably just lead into some new questions. This is a cycle we don’t see stopping at any point in the near future.
