The Flash season 4: Does Dibny have new powers?
Within this episode, you will see the evolution of Elongated Man’s powers; he can shift his cells to mimic those of someone else. Basically, he can shape-shift, which is probably a much more significant power really than anything else he currently does. This allows him the ability to go anywhere he wants without detection, provided of course that he can get the character right. This isn’t the only shape-shifter in the Arrow-verse, though, as J’onn J’onzz over on Supergirl can also do the same thing.
While seeing the Martian Manhunter do this often leads to some really interesting comedic moments, the same exact thing is probably going to happen tenfold on The Flash. We are speaking here, after all, about someone in Dibny who is a complete goof and doesn’t have that much control over the powers that he has, let alone some of the ones he is developing. Unfortunately, he may be key to helping Barry Allen get out of prison and be free from the clutches of Amunet.
In the two sneak peeks that CarterMatt has for you below, you get a good sense of this; to be specific, what you really see is Ralph figuring out that he needs to use his powers in order to pretend to be the prison warden, the same one who seems to have transferred Barry over to Amunet. It does make sense for this guy to be dirty — his job is to round up criminals, and given that he does probably run into quite a few meta-humans over time he probably figures that he can make a quick buck on many of them and they won’t really be missed. It’s obviously a plan that he considers to be smart and pretty crafty; yet, we’ve got a feeling that it still may not work for him. This episode marks one of the biggest opportunities that the team has had to date to upset the apple cart a little bit.
