The Good Doctor episode 15 return date for Freddie Highmore series
Based on current listings, the Freddie Highmore drama series is looking to pick up the first of what will be its final four episodes of the season on Monday, February 26 — basically, three weeks from tonight. The show is off the next couple of weeks because of the Olympics (like much of the TV landscape); following that, it will air one episode before going off the air again for a week due to the end of The Bachelor. Following that, there should be new episodes that air on a weekly basis from then until the finale.
Is there a danger that airing some of these episodes in such a scattershot way could hurt the ratings? Sure, but we don’t think that The Good Doctor is extremely concerned with that at the moment. The numbers for the first season have been, by and large, positive. The reaction from the fans has been equally so. Basically, there has been next to no reason why The Good Doctor should suffer too much because of a brief hiatus, especially if they hype up the story going into the break in the best way they can — by focusing on the drama in relation to Dr. Shaun Murphy. There is an excellent supporting cast all around Highmore, but he does remain the focal point of the series.
Hopefully, ABC will release some other information on episode 15, including a synopsis, over the next week or two. Beyond that, there is something else that we want to check out during this break — news in regards to a renewal! Given just how huge a hit the show has been, really to the point where it’s generated awards buzz for Freddie, we’re honestly shocked that there is no official renewal yet. Remember that for This Is Us last year, NBC confirmed things far before now at TCAs. We’ll see if some good news comes out soon; we’re keeping our fingers crossed for it.
