As you may know at the moment, Wednesday night’s new episode of Law & Order: SVU is going to be a huge one. Entitled “The Undiscovered Country,” this will be an opportunity to see a story that is emotional, but also one that is going to challenge some of the characters in ways that should surprise.

Beyond just that, it’s also going to be the first appearance of Philip Winchester as his character Peter Stone. He appeared on Chicago Justice for a full season In this role; now, he is going to be seeing what happens when he takes this role over to the Big Apple. We personally imagine that it’s going to be all sorts of exciting to see him mix things up for some of the other characters … but we certainly don’t want to see it come at the expense of Barba. The future of this character is very much in jeopardy, but we do have to wait and see how that happens and what the endgame of this episode could be.

Below, you can see via some videos what two different SVU actors in Peter Scanavino and Ice-T each had to say in regards to this episode, this story, and what you can anticipate seeing overall. We also like to hear the two of them talk about the emotional ramifications that come with allowing someone to come into the tight-knit SVU family. Even though Stone may very well have the best of intentions, that doesn’t mean in the slightest that the team trusts him right away. They had a way of doing things that was clearly working for them. With that, we understand absolutely why they would be hesitant to accept anyone else.

We don’t think either actor necessarily drops any big spoilers, but they didn’t need to. For starters, there has to be a further incentive to watch the show live! Beyond that, this is a story that will be the most effective in the moment.
