Call the Midwife season 7 episode 4 preview: Is Trixie relapsing?
Below, the Call the Midwife season 7 episode 4 synopsis offers up some good insight into what you can anticipate seeing:
Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) is drawn into the heart of a different culture when she is called upon to help a Pakistani family.
Having come to terms with her own childlessness, Mumtaz Gani (Balvinder Sopal) is heartbroken when her husband, Saddiq (Simon Rivers), brings home a second wife who is eight months pregnant.
Sister Julienne must help Mumtaz to terms with this new addition to her family. Elsewhere, Trixie (Helen George) struggles to cope after her break up with Christopher (Jack Hawkins) and looks for comfort at the bottom of a bottle. But it’s not long before she can no longer conceal her struggle with sobriety.
Sister Julienne and Dr Turner (Stephen McGann) are convinced Sister Monica Joan (Judy Parfitt) needs cataract surgery, but before having the first consultation, she must first acknowledge that her vision is impaired. And at Clinic, Lucille (Leonie Elliott) meets a woman with no ordinary craving – Mrs Campbell (Rose Wardlaw) can’t stop eating coal.
For anyone out there who has seen the series My Strange Addiction, the latter part of this synopsis sounds almost like an episode of that show. Ironically, there is also this really weird trend going on right now where everyone is also super-obsessed with charcoal and is putting it on just about everything. Who would’ve thought that would carry over somewhat to this show? In this case, though, it’s serious and there is probably a medical reason why this is happening. Time is of the essence for the midwives and nurses at Nonnatus House to figure out how to help. Also, Julienne is going to have to figure out how to help Mumtaz, and there is a serious concern for Trixie’s future given her history with addiction that we’ve become aware of over time.
