Most-popular Agents of SHIELD ‘ships (2018): FitzSimmons, Philinda, more
One of the things that the ABC drama has done a really great job of over time is establishing pairings that could come across as possible romances, but also don’t necessarily have to in order for the story to work. They show complexity, and even for the couples that end up together it doesn’t feel like they are portrayed in some sort of cheesy, over-dramatic way. These are real people going through real struggles, and most of them just so happen to be surrounded by superpowers and all sorts of other assorted craziness. If there’s romance at the end of it, that just so happens to be the icing on the cake.

Fitz and SImmons – It makes sense to start off with these two, given that these characters are the most stable and successful couple in the history of the series. They’ve been through a lot together, but the culmination of all of their struggles and victories was the engagement earlier this season. We don’t quite know what a wedding looks like within this world but we’re really excited to find out.
Coulson and May – Often called “Philinda” may ‘shippers, this is the pairing that we would love to see turn into so much more. The biggest thing that seems to be holding it back is just the fact that these two are constantly having to deal with other stuff. Coulson and May are both extremely selfless people, so of course they are going to concern themselves with almost everything else before even thinking about their own wants and needs. Hopefully, something changes in the second half of this season.
Mack and Elena – This relationship has evolved over time into one that is really complex, interesting, and loving. While there have been some good moments during season 5, we know that the writers are going to have a hard time topping the Framework story at the end of last season where Yo-Yo did everything that she could to bring him back from that reality. Some of those scenes packed in almost three or four heartbreaking moments per minute.
Daisy and Deke – This is probably the most-polarizing ‘ship that has been teased in some ways on the show — depending, of course, on your interpretation. Some see more of a sibling bond here, whereas others seem to want them to eventually become a little bity more. Either way you can’t ignore the enthusiasm that we’ve seen out there for it.
