Westworld: HBO to release season 2 trailer during the Super Bowl
HBO will debut the first trailer for the new season of the acclaimed sci-fi series Westworld.
According to Entertainment Weekly, a premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but new information about the new season should be available soon. In addition, the trailer can show footage from the entire season since production wrapped up some time ago.
If fans will recall Season 1 ended with Dolores shooting and killing Ford while an army of reactivated hosts emerges from a nearby forest. Basically Season 1 set up Season 2 with some exciting fun. Speaking of hosts, EW also published a teaser photo (see below) showing Bernard Lowe with an unfinished host standing and looking like he’s got a plan behind him. If so, is the show introducing a new type of host? Could be or it could just be an unfinished, but then why does it look like it has a secret agenda? The possible stories that could occur this season are endless and has the potential to top its first.
The other interesting about this trailer is many were shocked that HBO would pay the $5 million dollars per Super Bowl ad. The Westworld ad would HBO’s first in 20 years. So why now? Well for one, Game of Thrones rules the cable network and maybe the network feels it needs to promote the sci-fi series more in order to reach the sci-fi demographic. The series is popular, but not every sci-fi fanis watching. Maybe the Super Bowl is the network’s way of reaching those fans who also love football.
In the meantime, HBO released a refresher to remind fans of the most important events that occurred to during Season 1, which fans can check out below alongside some preliminary details:
“The story takes place in the fictional Westworld, a technologically advanced Wild West-themed amusement park populated by android hosts. Westworld caters to high-paying guests, who may indulge in whatever they wish within the park, without fear of retaliation from the hosts.”
For the time being, we will wait to hear when Season 2 will actually premiere and hopefully fans won’t have to wait for long.
