Timeless: what could happen to Wyatt during Season 2?

Matt Lanter's Wyatt

When NBC’s Timeless ended its first season, Wyatt and the team were dealing with their biggest mission yet. During Wyatt and Lucy’s journey to the 1950s, the coerced Lucy’s grandfather, Ethan Cahill, into taking them to the summit. In the present, they learned their 1950s mission paid off after an older Cahill gives them decades’ worth of records of Rittenhouse’s activities. So what could Wyatt’s journey be in Season 2?

Learning to work with Flynn – At the end of Season 1, fans saw Lucy work with Flynn after she stayed in the past with him in order to tell him who murdered his family. This ended up working out for the two of them. However, Wyatt has always made it clear that he has never trusted Flynn. So if the team has to work with Flynn again Wyatt will definitely not like the idea. So for Season 2, we like to see how Wyatt will react to Flynn possibly not being the complete enemy they believed him to be. We know he has done some evil, but has he been motivated for the right reasons this whole time? That’s for the team to decide.

His wife – The topic of Wyatt’s wife has always been his driving point in everything he does, including working with the task force. In the past, he used the time machine to try and stop her death, but he couldn’t prevent it. However, he could learn to move on and we hope he does. So going into Season 2, we hope that we will see Wyatt gradually move on, while still holding her close to his heart. We also want to see him forgive himself. He blames himself for her death and during this upcoming season we want Wyatt to understand he didn’t do anything wrong.

Lucy and Wyatt – During Season 1 there were a few moments that started making fans see a potential pairing between them. The chemistry between them has always been there, but they held back each time. Lucy because she wasn’t ready to jump into a relationship and Wyatt because he felt guilty due to his love for his wife. So during Season 2 we hope to see more of their chemistry blossom. We aren’t saying for them to jump right into something, but having some drawn out sexual tension would be great and these two characters have the potential to be a major ship.
