Blue Bloods season 8 episode 14 video: Is the NYPD under investigation?

When Blue Bloods season 8 episode 14 airs on CBS Friday night, you will see the CBS series in a position that should feel rather familiar to it at this point. After all, the NYPD is facing investigation, this time for a number of shootings. The Governor and the Attorney General’s office seem to be leading the charge, which in turn leaves Frank in a pretty complication position.

We know that Frank can go over and speak to the Governor (David Zayas) about some of what is going on. Yet, at the same time that probably is only good for so much. Meanwhile, we also know that he can try to pull a few strings behind the scenes to better ease tensions. That’s what the latest sneak peek courtesy of CBS seems to be all about.

In this new sneak preview, what you can effectively see Frank and Erin Reagan having a conversation regarding what Frank is up against, coupled with a debate as to whether or not there is anything that Frank can really do about it. His philosophy on the subject feels pretty clear: He recognizes that there isn’t really all that much he can do. Yet, at the same time he’s also aware that he is not the only person with a significant amount of power here and there is plenty that other people could do in order to bring some changes to this situation. Frank’s always been crafty in the Commissioner role — he may be by the book, but he reads that book backwards and forwards. He understands that more than virtually anyone.

This episode of Blue Bloods is the last one before the Olympics, and as a result of that we hope that there is some sort of big conclusion that reverberates throughout the hiatus. We don’t expect a big cliffhanger — this is really not the sort of show to do that sort of thing — but we do believe that the writers are going to figure out something to keep us talking between now and whenever the series returns in March.
