Here’s the great news: You are going to be able to to see several more episodes! Alas, the bad news is that you’re going to be waiting until Thursday, March 1 in order to see them. Like many other network shows, the Olympics are keeping new episodes off-schedule, and given that NBC is the network airing aid Olympics there’s really not going to be too great of an opportunity to even get repeats during the break.
Does distance make the heart grow fonder? Maybe. If nothing else, we certainly know already that Will & Grace fans are the patient type after having waited for so long in order to see more new episodes. They waited for years to bring the show back, and beyond that also had another fairly-long hiatus due to Thursday Night Football.
The good news for Will & Grace fans, even beyond the remainder of this season, is that there is already a season 10 renewal out there. With that in mind, there is a little less of a reason for anxiety over whether or not in the long term you’re going to get to see more of the series. That’s a sure thing. The larger question here is whether or not NBC is going to have an interest in bringing the show back for a season 11, or if that’s something that the cast will have an interest in. A number of these TV revivals have been incredibly entertaining, but one of the things that we’ve learned over time about them is that many of them tend to be rather short-lived. You get a chance to see a couple of seasons, but then the nostalgia fades and these shows have a rather-difficult time staying afloat. Look at the performance of The X-Files this season, which has slowly declined after getting off to a big ratings start when it was originally brought back. (Of course, there are some controversial story twists that probably also play a roll there.)
