Chicago Med sneak peek: Dr. Reese directly faces her fears in prison
If you have not seen the synopsis for Tuesday’s episode yet, it offers up some further details.
“After discovering that a patient’s family might have been abusive, Dr. Choi (Brian Tee) and April (Yaya DaCosta) contemplate calling child services. Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) struggle to see eye to eye in guiding a family who is dealing with their premature baby. Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) is persuaded into preforming a risky surgery on Dr. Bekker’s (guest star Norma Kuhling) mentor and world renowned surgeon, Dr. Marvin Jaffrey (guest star Malcolm McDowell). Meanwhile, Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo) joins Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) on a visit to the Cook County jail.”
The sneak peek (via SpoilerTV) focuses on Dr. Reese and Dr. Charles’s visit to County jail. The sneak peek opens with the prisoner being lead into the guarded room for the two doctors to examine. Dr. Charles starts by taking point, but Dr. Reese quickly stops him and asks to run point. At first Dr. Charles is apprehensive, but gives in. The audience can see Dr. Reese is a tad scared and nervous, but we can also see she is determined to face this head on. We know she has been having a hard to time lately feeling safe at her job, and this is by no means easy. So we were happy to see she is trying to rise about her fear.
Dr. Charles doesn’t go far. The two sit down in front of the prisoner and Dr. Reese starts out strong, looking him in the eyes while sounding confident. However, she quickly stutters and forgets what she is suppose to be investigating. Dr. Charles gives her some help just as the prisoner, who’s covered in tattoos, begins barking like an angry dog at her. Dr. Reese jumps out of fear as the prisoner and all his friends laugh. It’s an interesting moment to watch because obviously most people would jump at something so unexpected; you can see the fear in her eyes. She’s scared, but this point is a defining moment for her. Dr. Charles tells her to take a deep breath and tells her it will end. This is where the sneak peek ends and we can’t wait to see how this will go.
Will Dr. Reese rise about her fear? Or will she run? We personally hope she can beat this obstacle. Dr. Reese is a talented doctor who got a real dose the extreme consequences of her job, but we also know she has the ability to move past it. Only time will tell though.
