Grey’s Anatomy season 14: Chandra Wilson on possible departure rumors

Bailey

Will Chandra Wilson leave Grey’s Anatomy after Thursday night’s new episode? The actress is certainly well aware of some of the talk that is out there. It’s rather hard to avoid after the promo that was released for this episode coming up. Bailey looks to suffer what she believes to be a heart attack and as a result of that, everyone has memories of Derek rushing back into their head. The last thing that ANYONE wants is a repeat of what happened there!

Of course, you’re not going to get a straight answer on the subject of Bailey’s future until after this episode airs. With a laugh, this is all that Wilson would say in advance to Entertainment Weekly on the subject:

“Let’s say Bailey has been stressed … Is Bailey leaving? I think this is the right thing to say: Bailey’s been stressed and needs to take care of herself.”

We’ve said this in the past already, but the biggest reason to believe why Bailey is sticking around is simply due to the notion that most of the great drama for her in Grey’s Anatomy should be still to come. If the writers were to send the character to the grave now, that would deprive us of the most-tangible connective tissue between this show and the Station 19 spin-off featuring her husband Ben. While we know that Jason George was a cast member on Grey’s Anatomy proper for years, that can’t quite compare to someone like Wilson, who has been a part of the series from the very beginning. She’s one of the most familiar people within this world.

Knowing Grey’s Anatomy, we figure that one way or another, you’re going to get answers on Bailey’s fate by the end of this episode. Hopefully she makes it through, especially since we’re anticipating some huge stuff coming via this show and Station 19 collectively in the spring.
