This Is US season 2: On Jack’s death and the path ahead

Is This Is Us season 2 episode 14 new tonight on NBC? It would certainly be nice if it was, given the sort of story that we just took on at the end of this past episode.

The last we saw of the show was probably the most devastating ending of an episode to date. After all, we made it to the beginnings of the fire, and over the course of the upcoming Super Bowl episode, we’re going to see much of the fire itself. This episode will give you a sense as to exactly what happened and how it all impacted the characters in a wide array of different ways. It’s going to be difficult and gut-wrenching, but hopefully this is going to provide the answers that so many people out there are clearly looking for.

As for what’s coming beyond the Super Bowl on February 4 (which is when the series returns), there are a couple of things to note.

February 6 – This episode is “Crossing the Border,” and it’s going to be a very important one in discussing the aftermath of everything that happened. There’s probably going to be more of an emphasis on the younger cast than ever as the show tries to make the journey of the Big Three and Rebecca all the more tangible. (Side note: At what age do you stop using the younger actors and you switch back to using the cast wearing makeup to make them appear younger?

After the Olympics – The series will be going off the air for a few weeks due to the Winter Games, but on the other side of that the final few episodes of the season will premiere — which will, in turn, offer up a few more emotional reveals. At the conclusion of This Is Us this season Rise, another new drama, will take its place. NBC has already ordered a third season of This Is Us so there really isn’t anything to worry about there.

The biggest thing that everyone should remember at present is this: Just because This Is Us is resolving the mystery of Jack’s death doesn’t mean there are no more big reveals to come. Beyond all of this, though, this isn’t a show about the big reveal. Instead, it’s really a show about family and how people do their best to come to grips with difficult periods in their lives.
