Big Brother alum Paulie Calafiore dating The Bachelor’s Danielle Maltby
In a new post on Instagram, former The Bachelor contestant Danielle Maltby officially confirmed that she is in a relationship with Paulie Calafiore, a contestant on Big Brother 18 regarded by many as a villain. Maltby was a contestant on Nick Viall’s season of the ABC franchise, and then went on to appear on Bachelor in Paradise this past summer.
While we are certainly very familiar with contestants from reality series dating each other, it’s a little bit rarer to see it happen with stars on shows airing on separate networks. With Big Brother, there tends to be an extended fraternity with Survivor and The Amazing Race where contestants can occasionally meet and get to know each other. There are a few larger reality TV-based events that take place throughout the year, but The Bachelor doesn’t always have a large presence at them. With this show in particular, many former contestants tend to just hang out with either each other (there are often very big casts for these shows) or people from former seasons.
With all this mind, this has to be one of the more shocking pairings we’ve seen. It’s also not the first time Paulie has been in a relationship with a reality TV alum — he previously dated his fellow Big Brother 18 star Zakiyah Everette for months after his season, only for the two to eventually break up. Zakiyah was warned repeatedly during the season to steer clear from Paulie based on some of his comments regarding her and other women in the house.

Ultimately, you want to believe that Paulie learned from some of what happened in the summer of 2016, which got very controversial and heated at times. We wish him and Danielle all the best and we’ll see what happens here.
