Best Riverdale ‘ships (January 2018): Bughead, Choni, Varchie, Beronica, more
We’re continuing our month-long trend of presenting some of the most-notable ‘ships on TV today by looking at what may very well be one of the most-popular shows on TV for people who love romantic pairings. There are ones for almost every character under the sun and with that, there are so many that couldn’t fit onto this list. We chose some of the ones that we did based on social-media footprint, the sheer amount of fanfiction that is out there, and also in some instances where things are with the show at the moment.
At the bottom of this article, we’ve also got a poll for you to share some of your own favorites! We’ll continue to tabulate the results from now until Sunday, February 4 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern time (1:00 p.m. Pacific). At that point, we will announce the winner.

Bughead – This one goes without saying — the ‘ship between Betty and Jughead is one of the most popular within the Riverdale world and has been ever since the early days of the series. Givne the chemistry they share and everything they’ve already gone through, we don’t see this ‘ship slowing down anytime soon.
Varchie – It’s interesting that in the comics, so much of the story is about the love triangle between Betty, Archie, and Veronica. With Riverdale, the prominence of Bughead has made Varchie (Veronica and Archie) the more popular ‘ship … though that’s not to say that Betty and Archie don’t also have plenty of fans.
Barchie – Like we said, there are still plenty of Betty / Archie fans out there and we don’t see their population necessarily diminishing all that much as the series progresses. They’re childhood friends and one way or another, a connection is always going to be there.
Beronica – Even without that kiss in the first season, we still think that this is a ‘ship that would’ve been out there. With that being said, that moment almost certainly accelerated things to another level with many of the show’s fans.
Vughead – Veronica and Jughead both have some serious family issues, have experienced heartache, and have learned to compartmentalize some of their pain. There’s enough common ground here for this ‘ship to sail.
Choni – One of the ‘ships that is surging the most in popularity through season 2, we’ve seen things blossom (pun intended) when it comes to the relationship between Cheryl and Toni.
Falice – Finally, how about a ‘ship between some of the adults? FP and Alice are two of the parents on the series but it’s pretty clear that they’ve got a history together — the two of them eventually turning that history into something more could allow the series to get so much more messy — and by extension, all the more entertaining.
Jarchie – They are extremely popular in terms of fanfiction, and we have a feeling that this will continue for some time. Jughead and Archie are cornerstones of the series and they do care for each other — what’s great about ‘shipping is that it allows everyone the opportunity to look into relationships in different ways.
Joavin – Finally, we’ve got the relationship between Kevin Keller and Joaquin, one that there’s a significant demand for among many of the show’s diehard fans. Hopefully, there is still something more ahead for them.
