Supergirl season 3: How would Kara, Alex react to Reign reveal?
Yet, that could be changing starting on Monday night’s new episode as signs are starting to indicate that Alex could be learning the truth sooner rather than later. Samantha is aware that she is missing time and doesn’t understand why. With that, Alex may be inclined to do some research and help. We’re not sure how someone like Reign can be identified physiologically, but if there is a way, Alex and/or someone at the DEO could help with it.
The worrisome question is this: Even if there are some signs that Samantha is Reign, will they really buy into them? Will they overlook key warning signs just because everyone seems to like Samantha? It feels like something that certainly could happen. It’s also feasible that Alex could believe that Samantha and Reign are one in the same and Kara will not believe her, mostly because she is someone who wants to see the good within everyone. This is not the hardened Kara Danverz that we saw at the start of the season. Even in spite of the Mon-El twist there is much more of a sense of optimism and spirit here than there once was.

The sooner that Kara and Alex discover that Samantha is Reign, the faster that they can do something in order to stop her. The trouble here comes in that if Samantha ever gets in any sort of danger, the Reign part of her personality is going to come out to play. Trying to find a way to murder a single mother feels like it is off the table. It may be a sacrifice that has to be done in due time, but we can’t imagine that being the first solution that Kara and Alex come up with. We feel like it’s more likely that they will try and find a way to hide away Samantha’s Worldkiller side for good. Whether or not they’re successful is probably something we won’t know about until far later in the spring.
