Supergirl season 3 episode 12 preview: Is Lena Luthor turning bad?

Lena Luthor

Are you ready for Supergirl season 3 episode 12? This episode is entitled “For Good,” and one of the central themes of it is going to be seeing whether or not Lena Luthor can avoid crossing over to the dark side. We know she has that in her, largely due to her history and her last name being Luther. She has avoided some of those dark urges as of late, but over the course of this upcoming installment you better be prepared for none other than Morgan to come back with some vicious threats — he is ready to cause her some serious harm. This could end up bringing her to the breaking point, and she is going to need every bit of the help that her good friend Kara can offer. This is not about Kara saving the day as Supergirl; instead, it’s about Kara Danvers as herself talking Lena off the ledge and the relationship that they’ve formed being the hero.

Want some more news on Supergirl season 3 episode 12 and what’s coming up? Be sure to check out the attached synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

MORGAN EDGE THREATENS LENA – Someone tries to kill Morgan Edge (guest star Adrian Pasdar) and he barely survives. He accuses Lena (Katie McGrath) of being behind the attempt and vows to destroy her. When Lena fears her hatred for Morgan will take her to the Luthor dark side, Kara (Melissa Benoist) steps in to help her friend. Meanwhile, after Sam (Odette Annable) realizes she’s losing time, she confides in Alex (Chyler Leigh) who decides to run some medical tests to see if she can find out what’s going on with her new friend. Tawnia McKiernan directed the episode with story by Robert Rovner and teleplay by Cindy Lichtman & Alix Sternberg (#312). Original airdate 1/29/18.

Could this also be the episode in which Alex finds out that Samantha is actually Reign? There’s obviously a lot to be worried about based on that synopsis. Of course, Alex knowing the truth about the villain of the season is important, but even if she learns the truth isn’t there still a chance that nobody will believe her? A part of what makes this season so interesting right now is that most of the characters on Supergirl really like Samantha Arias. She’s likable, a good friend, and also a great mother. It’s hard to imagine that layer of darkness underneath the surface. Technically, it’s not actually there, given that Samantha isn’t in control of what is going on with her when her evil alter ego takes over. The problem is that in order to take down Reign, it’s pretty clear right now that Samantha could end up being caught in the crossfire.

In the end, the craziest thing about this upcoming Supergirl episode is that there are only two more before the show goes on hiatus until April. With that you better be prepared to enjoy every second of Supergirl now.
