The Originals: Klaroline voted vest ‘ship by CW series’ fans
Over the course of the past several days we’ve had fans of the CW series and CarterMatt readers answer one simple question: What is the greatest ‘ship in the history of the series? With this being the final year for the show, it made a good bit of sense to touch on this now. The candidates were as follows: Haylijah (Hayley / Elijah), Klamille (Klaus / Cami), the aforementioned Klaroline (Klaus / Caroline) Kolvina (Kol / Davina), and Rebel (Rebekah / Marvel).
Going into the poll, we had a reasonably good idea as to how things were going to turn out just based on voting history here at the site. While this is the first time that we’ve done a poll about the best The Originals ‘ship ever, Klaroline is a former winner at the CarterMatt Awards in the category of ‘Ship of the Year. We strongly believe that the sole reason Candice King is appearing in the final season of the show is as a reaction to some of the diehard fans of The Originals who voted for this character year after year.

Klaroline dominated this poll with more than 70% of the vote, which should be a reminder to everyone that entering the final stretch of episodes on this show, the pairing is really getting more popular as opposed to the other way around. It’s a vote based on anticipation of something that could happen — and we’re actually rather optimistic that something will. Can you imagine the fan reaction of we’ve waited for this long to get Candice over on The Originals only for the two to not spend much in the way of screen time together? Much of the internet would explode!
For now, congratulations to all of the Klaroline ‘shippers for winning this poll — we’ll see if we have something else to congratulate you for story-wise when The Originals airs its latest batch of episodes on The CW this spring.
