NCIS 350th episode: Should Michael Weatherly appear?

Later on this spring, only a couple of episodes away from the season 15 finale, the NCIS 350th episode is going to air on CBS. While this is exciting, we also do have to say that it is a little bit of an arbitrary milestone. It’s an achievement, but typically shows only celebrate episode numbers via the hundreds. That’s when you get the fancy party with the cake and the red carpet.

Nonetheless, CarterMatt does think that once you get to the point where you’re past the 300th episode that every single milestone you make it to is an achievement; you don’t know how long you are going to continue to be on the air and as a result of that, you have to seize the moment and make it special.

This is why we think that NCIS should consider one thing to make episode #350 something great: Bringing in Michael Weatherly for a cameo.

Obviously, doing this in-person is almost impossible for a number of different reasons, with one of the biggest ones being that we’re talking here about a man who is a series regular over on Bull — that show not only films at the same time as NCIS, but in another part of the country. There’s no feasible way for him to make the trip out to Los Angeles unless there’s some unrealistic break in production.

However, what we could feasible see is NCIS doing something that we’ve seen another show in The Big Bang Theory often do over the years: Bring someone in via Skype. Weatherly could record a message like Christine Baranski did for the sitcom, and it could air as a part of the episode. It’d be a short-but-sweet cameo that makes longtime fans of the show smile.

There’s one other reason why a Weatherly cameo could be great

This really all boils down to this: Michael is one of the few original cast members whose character is still alive and tied to the show in some capacity. With Pauley Perrette leaving at the end of the season, it would be nice for Abby and Tony to share the small screen together one last time.

The 350th episode will likely air in either April or May, so let’s hope that there is some good news handed down about it over the weeks to come.
