Where is the Shades of Blue season 3 premiere date announcement?
Earlier today, it was confirmed that Timeless season 2 is going to premiere on Sunday, March 11 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, and the reason why that is so important to highlight is that this was the timeslot previously reserved for Shades of Blue in the past. Unfortunately, it looks like for the third straight season the series is on the move to a potentially-unknown destination … and there is no clear, obvious option.
With that in mind, CarterMatt is ready to take a look at the state of the nightly lineup for many different NBC series.
Mondays – The Voice will be coming back later this year, but Good Girls will be filling the void left by The Brave.
Tuesdays – When This Is Us is over, it will be replaced by the new drama Rise. Otherwise, this probably would have been one of the most appealing spots for Shades of Blue to premiere.
Wednesdays – There is no evidence that The Blacklist, Law & Order: SVU, or Chicago PD will be wrapped up before May.
Thursdays – Unless some comedies end at some point in the spring, we don’t see an opening here.
Friday – Do you get rid of Dateline and throw this show up against Blue Bloods, a somewhat-similar series over on CBS? We don’t foresee that happening.
Basically, the conclusion that we’re drawing now is that the Shades of Blue season 3 premiere date is going to air either in late spring or early summer. That stinks, but there’s not exactly anywhere else to put it unless NBC airs Jennifer Lopez and company on Saturday nights — from a ratings standpoint nobody wants that. We wouldn’t be shocked if Shades of Blue eventually ends up being paired with J.Lo’s other series World of Dance to capitalize on its ratings.
