Lucifer season 3 spoilers: Is Ella’s brother Jay Lopez in hot water?

One of the great things about a show like Lucifer is that over time, we get more opportunities to learn about the people and understand some of what they go through. Moving into the upcoming February 5 episode “My Brother’s Keeper,” one of the people we are looking forward to learning more about is Ella’s brother Jay Lopez. Ricardo is one of the siblings we’ve heard about previously; now, we’re getting a chance to learn about another.

The synopsis for this upcoming episode below gives you a little bit more insight on how Jay gets involved in the story:

When Chloe and Lucifer’s investigation into the murder of a diamond thief points to one of Ella’s brothers as the main suspect, Ella is driven to prove her brother’s innocence and recruits an unlikely ally. Meanwhile, Linda is upset when Charlotte comes to her for help and Detective Pierce hashes out his issues with Amenadiel in the all-new “My Brother’s Keeper” episode of LUCIFER airing Monday, Feb. 5 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

So who is playing Jay Lopez on the show? Think Rey Valentin, who most recently appeared on Major Crimes and also has some appearances on Person of Interest and Agent Carter on his resume. We’re definitely excited to see how he gets himself all the more integrated in this story — and also if there are some more appearances coming up down the line. We like that Ella is going to do her best to be the strong sibling and make sure no trouble comes his way … even though she really can’t guarantee much of anything.

Hopefully, Lucifer will continue onward on Fox for many more seasons and as a result of that, we are also going to get opportunities to meet some other siblings along the way. Thanks to the 22-episode order we have time to focus on some other stories and a wide array of characters.
