Countdown to Absentia: New Stana Katic interviews and more

Stana Katic

Are you ready for today’s edition of Countdown to Absentia? We absolutely hope so, given that in just two days time, the series is finally going to be premiering on Showcase. (You are going to be waiting a little bit longer in America to see it arrive on Amazon.)

As some of you out there may be aware of, series star Stana Katic spent a good bit of time earlier this week in Toronto promoting the new series, which included a stop on a number of different Canadian talk series. That included ET Canada, where she stopped by in order to discuss everything from the premise of Absentia to the feeling that she missed working on Castle for so many years. She loved having that diehard group of fans supporting her, but beyond that also the close relationships that she formed with many of the cast and crew members over the years. When you work on a show like that for more than 20 episodes a year, one of the things that is often forgotten about is just how much of a family atmosphere is cultivated. You just spend so much of your time together for so many years!

We know that there is a great vibe already with Katic and much of the Absentia cast and crew when they film in Bulgaria. Hopefully, there are going to be some opportunities for everyone to spend some more time together shooting season 2 soon.

In addition to that appearance, be sure to check out another appearance from Katic on the Canadian talk series The Social. This is another great appearance from her to dish a little bit more about the show in a longer-form format.

If Absentia turns out to be an enormous hit in Canada, what that does is give Sony an even larger green light to consider making more episodes for quite some time. Beyond that, there could be even more of a value to them making a show like this with a similar distribution model. After all, there is a great deal that they have to gain to popularizing a show all over the world; they would just need to come up with other similar concepts and also great actors to take on some of the main roles.

After seeing the entirety of this Absentia press tour as of late, are you more excited than ever before to see the series itself play out?
