Scorpion season 4 spoilers: Will Shantel VanSanten return?

Following her first appearance as Amy Berkstead, is Shantel VanSanten returning to Scorpion season 4 a little bit later this season? Based on some of the early evidence that is out there on the subject, it seems that this, in fact, is the case! You are going to have a chance to see Toby’s former fiancee on the upcoming January 29 episode entitled “Wave Goodbye,” and on the surface, it does seem like her presence could cause some problems.

After all, the Scorpion synopsis below suggests that Toby will be keeping a secret from most of the rest of the team, and it just so happens to involve Amy:

“Wave Goodbye” – Team Scorpion must prevent an incoming tsunami from hitting a vulnerable nuclear power facility, and Toby secretly helps his ex-fiancée retrieve her stolen identity, on SCORPION, Monday, Jan. 29 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Why would Toby do this? It’s one of the more interesting questions that we have, mostly because he’s a smart enough guy in theory to learn that keeping a secret from Happy would not get him anywhere. Why is Amy so intent on keeping this under wraps that she doesn’t want Team Scorpion to know? They’re not the sort who would go out and spread this rumor like wildfire.

Ultimately, we do have SO many questions. What we can say is that we do really like the idea of getting VanSanten back on the show for one more episode, at the very least. We know that she won’t be a regular presence since she’s got another show in Shooter, but it’s smart every now and then to bring in a few different actors. After all, this does help to mix things up and keep many of the different characters on their toes.
