Critics’ Choice Awards 2018 live stream, start time, and much more

Looking for a Critics’ Choice Awards 2018 live stream? As it turns out, you’re actually going to need one for the first part of the show!

Officially, the start time for the Critics’ Choice Awards on The CW is 8:00 p.m. Eastern, but that’s not going to be the start of the actual show. The ceremony will start in full at 7:00 p.m., and you can check out the official CW site for a live stream of the first hour. After that, you may need to switch over to the network itself to watch the remainder of the show.

A CarterMatt quick reminder: Things are going to be even more confusing for all of our Pacific time friends out there. The stream for the first hour will be at 4:00 p.m. Pacific, and then you’ll have to wait until the start of primetime in order to see the rest of the show. Boo.

Why is this all so messy and/or confusing? Well, we really should just be grateful that the Critics’ Choice Awards 2018 even have a broadcast partner that is on major network television. That hasn’t always been the case. We just wish that The CW had worked something out with their local affiliates to either start the CW airing early or had it run late — we know it would’ve delayed the start of news/syndication, but it’s just for one night!

Olivia Munn is set to host the show this year, so we’re anticipating a presentation that is both funny but also topical. This is a time where there are some powerful messages that can be passed along and we hope that there are some different winners tonight than at the Golden Globes. That, in turn, will allow there to be a little bit more diversity in some of the messages we hear.
