The Good Doctor spoilers: Is another competitor arriving at the hospital?

Want to check out some of the latest The Good Doctor spoilers? We’ve got an interesting casting update ahead, and it’s one that could have some enormous implications to the power dynamics at the hospital moving forward.

As first reported by DeadlineWilfred alum Fiona Gubelmann is going to be recurring on the ABC series moving forward this season as a new resident named Morgan. For now, her arc is meant to last for around five episodes, but depending on how it goes and the showrunners’ own creative desires there is a good chance that she could become a regular for season 2 of the series. CarterMatt is hoping that there will be some sort of formal renewal soon; in all honesty, we’re rather shocked that there is not one already.

Morgan is described as being a very friendly, charming resident and someone that others are going to want to be around. Everyone wants to surround themselves with infectious personalities, right? On paper, that seems like it’s the smart thing to do. However, over time some of the other doctors could realize that Fiona may actually be a little bit more competitive of a doctor than she first lets on, and this in turn could lead to questions and/or trouble for them. While we think that the hospital is a supportive environment as a whole (save for anything related to Dr. Coyle and his harassing ways), that doesn’t mean that there isn’t some tension that can pop up if Morgan tries to snatch a surgery or a high-interest patient away from other doctors.

For Gubelmann, we have a feeling that this is a role that she is going to especially appreciate. After all, The Good Doctor marks a chance for her to dive into some really good drama and we figure that this is a character whose role will probably increase in importance as time goes by.
