Fear the Walking Dead season 4: New Lennie James photo!
What we’ve got for you below (courtesy of Entertainment Weekly) is another photo of Morgan in a new setting, where he is going to be dealing and interacting with new characters. This is the first major crossover that AMC has planned with the two different shows, and without a doubt it’s an attention-grabbing one. There aren’t many opportunities to cross the two shows over, given that they are set in different parts of the country and, by and large, different time periods after the Apocalypse.
Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead may also feel rather different than any of the ones that came before it. After all, Ian B. Goldberg and Andrew Chambliss are going to be replacing Dave Erickson as the showrunners for the new batch of episodes, and they may bring with them new storytelling ideas. They honed their craft over on Once Upon a Time so we know that they’ve got a lot of imagination both for writing entertaining stories and testing boundaries.
Specifically, here is what Chambliss had to say about some interactions he’s had with Lennie James to date:
“When we first met Lennie, he impressed upon us how much he cared about the character and how important it was to him for us to take Morgan to places we hadn’t seen before. It’s been a great challenge to set for ourselves, and it’s what we hope to do with the character — to push Morgan to places he could only get by coming into contact with the characters on Fear. They’ll change him. And, at the same time, he’ll change them.”
James will depart The Walking Dead season 8 at some point during this upcoming season; he may return to the flagship show down the line, but Fear the Walking Dead and the story coming up here remains the top priority.
