Absentia US premiere date officially revealed at Amazon
Today, Amazon confirmed that the Absentia US premiered date — Friday, February 2. In true Amazon fashion, all of the episodes will be revealed at once.
We have covered Absentia extensively for the better part of this past year, but for those needing a little bit of a refresher, here you go: The series stars Castle alum Stana Katic as an FBI agent who resurfaces years after being presumed dead. In the process of this she learns that her former life isn’t quite available to her like it once was, and there are some other dark secrets lurking around every corner. It’s a thriller that you’re probably going to want to binge the moment that you press play. We know that our own natural tendency as a viewer is to let each individual episode breathe a little bit, but that’s going to be difficult for us given our anticipation for the story ahead.
Joining Katic in this series is Patrick Heusinger, Neil Jackson, Cara Theobold, Angel Bonanni, Bruno Bichir, and many more. Absentia, a product of Sony TV, has already finished its run in many other parts of the world. It’s prove to be successful enough to get another season, so you can watch with confidence that the show is not going to be going anywhere in the near future.

While we’re still shoring up the specifics of what our own Absentia coverage is going to be, know that we will be presenting reviews for many of the individual episodes and, to go along with that, plenty of story speculation and theories for the future. Shows like Absentia are among our personal favorites insofar as coverage goes, mostly because you’ve got such a wide range of different material that you can touch on. There are interpretations to make, scenes to analyze, and certainly plenty of questions to ponder over. All in all, this is going to be a fun and super-crazy ride.

In premiering on February 2, you will have a chance to power through the entirety of the first ten episodes prior to the Winter Olympics — or, if you are really devoted, before even the Super Bowl.

I’m very glad that Amazon will be airing Absentia early next month, and hope that this show lives up to all the hype.
That said . . . I now have a show dilemma! I really was interested in Altered Carbon premiering that same day on Netflix.
Intriguing, dark psychological crime thriller with Stana Katic,? or . . . what I think will be a creepy, and good sci-fi show?
Hmm . . . , which do I watch first? Decisions, decisions.
