The Good Doctor episode 12 preview: Shaun, Lea’s future in ‘Islands Part 2’
So what is coming up on The Good Doctor episode 12? Let’s just say that Shaun is going to make a decision that could change his life, and it also just so happens to be a decision that he is not going to be able to walk back from.
For a little bit more insight, check take a look at the “Islands Part 2” synopsis:
The twins suffer complications from their surgery forcing the team at San Jose Boneventure Hospital to make a life-changing decision. Meanwhile, Dr. Shaun Murphy returns to the hospital after his trip with Lea and decides he needs a more permanent change and gives Dr. Aaron Glassman his two weeks’ notice.

We would say that it’s a somewhat-massive spoiler for ABC to give Shaun’s two-weeks notice away, but at the same time we’re not exactly all that confident that this is going to be something that necessarily sticks for him. After all, the show is not entitled The Good Guy Who Used to Be a Doctor and Now He’s Not So He’s Now Just a Guy and That Alone. Okay, it’s probably a good thing that it’s now called that.
As for the surgery itself, the only teaser that we can add is that these doctors have all done so many different operations at this point that for something like this to be mentioned in a synopsis, it has to be pretty darn important. We strongly suggest that you keep your eyes peeled for anything that could be coming up.
More teasers
Be prepared to see Shaun at least back at the hospital temporarily — the new promo confirms that. Yet, it could be very much temporary.
