Madam Secretary season 4 episode 11: What happened to Dmitri?
So, is Dmitri dead, or is Chris Petrovski leaving the show?
Well, here is the good news when it comes to the Dmitri character — he is still alive. However, at the same time the character is now being sent far away from Washington DC in Alaska. Over the course of the episode we learned more about him being the target of assassins, which was dangerous for so many reasons. For one, it compromises in part his own job. Beyond that, it also puts Stevie at risk. Elizabeth and Henry found out about the full extent of their relationship tonight, but let’s just say that they were not altogether happy about it.
As sad as the departure of Dmitri was, at least Henry managed to give the two parties one last meeting together before he went away. It’s very clear that they still have feelings for one another; as a result of that, we’re going to be wondering if this character is really gone for good. Petrovski is great in the role and this was probably the best connection the Stevie character had with someone.
As for what else took place this week, Elizabeth made it clear in private that she had no interest in running for President. Yet, at the same time she refused to do in public despite the request from the Vice-President to do so. While the two women worked very well together in order to resolve a crisis in Russia, at the same time there is possibly a brewing political battle coming down the road.
Overall, we do think that neither story in this episode is completely over. With Dmitri still alive and with those feelings still very much clear, there’s a chance that something could still happen with these characters. Meanwhile, we also think that Elizabeth possibly running for public office is going to be brewing for quite some time.
