Timeless season 2 premiere date announcement may come soon
Specifically, it seems like we could know some approximate news about a Timeless season 2 premiere date over the next week.
Speaking (Per TV Guide) in a new interview at the TCA Winter Press Tour, here’s what executive producer Shawn Ryan had to say on the subject:
“I have a feeling that NBC — when’s their [TCA] session? In the next couple days? I have a feeling they will be making an announcement very shortly … They’ve kind of informed us of a general window, and I don’t want to step on that especially because it’s not final, but my guess is you’ll find out very shortly.”
So what do we make of this announcement? Our feeling is that it’s coming in the spring — it seems like the summer is too far in the future for NBC to have any specific idea as to when they’d be launching Timeless. That’s just our own speculation, but there’s no hurry for NBC to announce summer dates right now. They’ve got time to figure some of that out.

We’ve said over the past couple of weeks that one of our overarching predictions right now is that Timeless season 2 could end up finding a home on NBC Sunday nights. After all, they’ve got three hours of programming to fill there come March when NFL football the Oscars end. One of those hours will probably go to Shades of Blue, and if you put Little Bit Shots in there, as well, it’s feasible that Timeless could take the spot of the now-canceled Chicago Justice. Another option? Moving a show to Blindspot to Sundays and Timeless to Fridays. Beyond this, there doesn’t seem to be that much room in the schedule elsewhere pending some sort of dramatic change. At this point, we just hope that some viewers are discovering the show over the hiatus and they will eventually flock to it no matter when it airs.
