McMafia episode 2 preview: What’s next for James Norton series?

McMafia episode 2

Following tonight’s premiere episode, we know you want to know what lies ahead on McMafia episode 2 and CarterMatt is happy to fill you in on the details.

Schedule-wise, the first thing that you should know is that you don’t have to wait very long at all to get more of the series. The next new episode is airing on Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. local time, just 24 hours after the premiere. Part of the reasoning for this seems to be as a means to grab viewers right away — the eight-part series exploring the complicated life of family-man-turned-mobster is not meant to air on a nightly basis. After episode 2, the series will go off the air until Sunday. At that point, (presumably) we will see the series settle in to its normal timeslot. After all, Sundays tend to be the night in which the BBC chooses to air most of their new episodes.

For more news as to what’s coming in McMafia episode 2, we’ve got a full press release for you below courtesy of the network. Of course, be warned that there are some spoilers ahead:

A young woman, Lyudmilla (Sofya Lebedeva, pictured), arrives in Cairo to take up a job as a beautician, only to find she has been deceived and kidnapped by a human trafficking ring.
Meanwhile, Semiyon (David Strathairn) meets his associate in Mumbai – Dilly (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) – to discuss how to challenge Benny Chopra’s (Atul Kale) control of the main port. Dilly argues that he will need a great deal of money to cause any disruption, so Semiyon has Alex transfer Dilly the cash through a complex and untraceable offshore route.
Semiyon travels to Prague, searching for an ally to challenge Vadim’s (Merab Ninidze) smuggling operations in the region. He meets Reznik, the thuggish head of a counterfeiting operation, but finds his deputy Benes (Karel Roden) to be more switched on.
Realising he needs help, Semiyon asks Alex to join him in Prague. Alex, who is struggling to keep his family together and to hide Semiyon’s illegal investment from his staff, is reluctant to be directly involved, but eventually agrees to make the trip.
Back in London and already shaken by some family news, Alex is horrified by the violent effects his actions can have in this new world.

If you are still looking for a reason to watch the show in America and missed our reporting previously, McMafia is going to air a little bit later this year on AMC. Stay tuned for more news on that subject.
