The Bachelor spotlight: Lauren Griffin wants purple hair, but does she want Arie?

Lauren Griffin is one of many contenders on The Bachelor with Arie Luyendyk Jr., and she just so happens to also be one of many contenders named Lauren. There are in total four different Laurens on the show this season! Why so many? Ask someone in casting.

The truth here about Lauren is that there are a lot of questions that you have to wonder when it comes to her; out of almost everyone this season, she’s one of the most under-the-radar contestants. There isn’t all that much that is known about her save for her bio, one in which she proclaims that she wants purple hair at some point during her life? She’s an executive recruiter from Indianapolis, one of her favorite shows is This Is Us, and she has a number of small tattoos.

Lauren sounds like the sort of person who went on The Bachelor either because A) someone dared her to do it or B) she actually really wants love. There’s nothing about her pre-show profile that screams “I really want to be a reality star hawking things on Instagram.” She’s the sort of person Arie Luyendyk Jr. should consider as a contender because it seems like she’s reasonably serious about having a relationship and isn’t going to squander this opportunity … provided that she gets much of a chance.

Here is the big problem for Lauren: She doesn’t seem as though she’s going to have the personality to do really well on this show. She would probably fare better on a Bachelor in Paradise where there is more individual time to spend with people. She doesn’t strike us as being either camera-hungry or aggressive in the dating-one-guy-pursued-by-dozens-of-other-women game.

Will Arie Luyendyk Jr. like her? – Possibly, but we just don’t see the relationship progressing altogether quickly. Basically, that’s a superficial way of a Bachelor saying that they just don’t want to go through the effort because, superficial or not, they’ve found a quicker connection somewhere else.
