Power season 5: Who could die? 5 people we’re worried about

Who could die on Power season 5? While the series isn’t likely to premiere on Starz until the summer, we really don’t think that it’s too early to shy away from that question. This is a show that, after all, really does want you thinking about who is safe and who could be in danger the vast majority of the time in which it’s on the air.

Take for most of last season — you were intentionally led down a road where you spent a ton of time thinking that we could be seeing the death of Jamie’s son Tariq. It was misdirection for what really happened — we lost one of the few innocent people in this world, and someone who genuinely didn’t deserve to have anything so horrible happen to her. There are a lot of people in this show who could die and nobody would be surprised. That is, in part, what makes it such an interesting end product to watch.

If you look below, you can see a few more candidates as to who we could potentially stand to lose over the course of the year ahead.

Kanan – Let’s be honest — 50 Cent’s character almost died once and he’s done so much terrible stuff that it’s easy to envision a billion or so ways in which he could die again. It’s hard to imagine that anyone would be altogether surprised by it if he gets in too deep or betrays Ghost again.

Councilman Tate – While he may claim that he wants to revitalize the neighborhood he’s got his own agenda and seems to enjoy having Ghost by the puppet-strings. This is totally the sort of guy Power loves to take out.

Joe Proctor – If you cannot find a way too lock Ghost up in prison, why not go after the person who is responsible for protecting him from prison? It’s not completely a lateral move to work in something like this.

Tariq – Hey, we still don’t think that he is completely out of the woods just yet, though to us it makes more sense to keep Ghost’s son alive now to come to grips with the end result of his actions — not only did he lose his little sister, but his mother is now taking the fall for what he decided to do to Ray Ray.

Tommy – Finally, this is the move that Power makes if it really wants to devastate Ghost. While we do think that removing Tariq from the equation would hit Ghost right in the heart, losing his longtime friend — who is like a brother to him — cuts him someplace deeper.
