Madam Secretary season 4: Should Elizabeth become President?

Madam Secretary

In light of recent events on Madam Secretaryit seems as though the show is foreshadowing that Elizabeth will eventually become President of the United States of America. So the question that remains is should Elizabeth becoming President be the end game of the show whenever it ends? We certainly believe so. It only seems fitting. The show tells us how Elizabeth is popular among the people and how politicians see her as a threat. Obviously, she getting some traction and even though Elizabeth doesn’t want the job, others believe she would be a right fit.

If the writers had Elizabeth waiting to be President right now, it would upset the balance of the show. Currently Elizabeth is doing her job as Secretary of State to the best of her ability and she is having much success. Besides, there are so many stories left to tell with her as Secretary. The writers can still do so much with her and it’s really the only reason why they should continue with her as Secretary until the end – whenever that may be.

However, TVLine has recently published an article about how Madam Secretary is one of the shows they consider to be in danger of cancellation. Could this be why the writers are bringing up Elizabeth being President? After all, this isn’t the first time the conversation has been brought up. If fans will recall back in Season 2, Elizabeth became President for a hot second after the President’s plane disappeared over the Pacific Ocean. Now they are bringing it back up again. We know the show has been up against a lot this season with a new time slot and football.

Could the show’s new time slot be the problem? That’s what we believe. For three seasons, the show was doing well in its time slot and now that it has been moved, there’s a problem. Hopefully CBS will realize that the fanbase for this show is very much still present and supportive. Madam Secretary is a well-written show and has been telling great stories and needs to continue on.

Overall, the fans need to tune in every week and we think CBS needs to consider moving the show back to its original time slot.
