Supergirl season 3 episode 10 spoilers: How can the DEO stop Reign?

Moving into Supergirl season 3 episode 10, it’s pretty clear that National City is in a degree of jeopardy. Reign came close to killing Supergirl at the end of the first half of the season, and as a result of that she’s starting things off in “Legion of Superheroes” effectively in a coma. As a result of that, the mantle of Chief Superhero in National City could be handed down to Mon-El. Even though he’s been gone for a rather long time, he is still one of the few people capable of being able to bring the Worldkiller down.

It probably is going to help that we’re going to be seeing Mon-El try to recruit an old friend to help get Kara back in fighting shape. The Supergirl season 3 episode 10 synopsis below teases the arrival of Brainiac-5, a character we first learned earlier this year would be coming on board the series in some capacity:

Struggling to heal from her injuries inflicted by Reign, Supergirl remains in a dreamlike state, unable to be reached. Mon-El recruits one of the Legion members, Brainiac-5 (Defiance‘s Jesse Rath), to try to bring her back. Meanwhile, Reign continues her rampage on the city so the DEO teams up with the Legion of Superheroes to try to stop her.

We imagine that this is going to be one of those stories that allows J’onn to showcase more of his Martian Manhunter powers than he is accustomed to; to go along with that, we also hope that this installment is also going to offer up an opportunity to understand more of just how Reign works and if Samantha can keep this secret just that. It’s a challenge given that Reign is in so many ways also a secret kept from herself; she doesn’t know the truth about who she really is and it’s certainly possible that someone else could find out the truth before even she does. Consider for a moment Ruby, someone who is probably going to be suspicious of how her mother is suddenly disappearing and reappearing throughout the day/night.
