NCIS season 15 episode 11 video: Bishop, Torres take a chance
For example, the tension that’s been mounting over time between Gibbs and Nick Torres seems to be finally coming to a head. Gibbs is a stickler for the rules; meanwhile, Torres has a tendency to violate said rules. He’s always followed the beat of his own drummer and that has always rubbed Gibbs the wrong way; this is a man who’s spent the majority of his crime-fighting career in deep cover and as a result of that, he’s not altogether conditioned to do things by the book. Why would he follow someone else’s rules when he has been able to get results in a different way? He hasn’t faced all that much in the way of a punishment for doing his own thing in the past.
This is why there is a part of us that would find it interesting to see this NCIS story veer off in a direction where Nick ends up facing some real, substantial punishment as a result of him going rogue here and there in cases. We don’t want to see him off the team by any means, but when are things between him and Gibbs going to really come to a head? It’s helped that the team has been able to resolve most of their cases at the end of the episode no matter what happens during them, but there is going to be a time down the road when that’s not going to be enough anymore. This is something that is certainly worth watching out for.
As for the rest of this episode, one of the things that we’re anticipating the most is seeing Bishop and Torres out in the field working together. Regardless of whether or not they violate some of Gibbs’ rules, this episode should allow for a chance to see a more uninhibited side to Ellie than what we’ve witnessed on the show to date. There is some excitement that comes along with that, given that she is someone who has evolved significantly since her start on the series.
